Parks and Gardens
Toronto is home to a number of parks, green spaces, and boardwalks. Over
90 km of paved trails are available to walkers, joggers, cyclists and
hikers. When the temperature drops, Toronto parks are transformed into a
winter wonderland of ice rinks, snow angels, and pick-up hockey games.
Community Centres
Toronto is voted the best place to live and work in the World (Fortune
Magazine). Almost every community in Toronto has a community centre for
sports, recreation, crafts and local events.
Skiing & Snowboarding
If you are a skier/snowboarder or want to try either sport, you will be an
hour away from great ski hills. They have lessons from the beginner level
right up to the advanced skier/snowboarder. The Seneca International
Student Centre takes international students on skiing/snowboarding days
throughout the winter.
Cycling
Toronto has endless cycling trails. So, whether you want to cycle all
around the waterfront, on Toronto Island or through the Rouge River
valley, you will never run out of sights and options.
Tennis
If tennis is your game, there are tennis courts at the Newnham Campus and
courts at York University, Seneca@York. There is also a large number of
tennis courts affiliated with local recreation centres. So don't forget to
pack your racket, when you come to our college.
Skating
Seneca College has their own skating and hockey rink at the Newnham
campus. The International Student Centre sets up 'Learn to Skate' programs
for any international student willing to put on skates.
